Our main dealer used to book us in one year in advance. Deliver morning first day. Collect early pm next. Never failed. I can understand illness but usually dealers can manage that.
Used a Damian type qualified mobile chap. Meeting him at the farm next Thursday 8.00 am. Back at 1.00pm . He then goes through everything, chassis, habitation, Gas electric, 12v 230 etc. Full damp readings and any panel cracks. Very thorough and on a heavy ta he is reasonably priced. These guys live and die by the sword and cannot afford to deliver a sub standard service.

He checks all,the cooker gas taps for free movement , both rotational and push and auto release. A lot of engineers, dealers in particular seem to miss this very important issue which can lead to an explosion.

Quote " They do NOT service the gas, electric or water systems! All they do is a check that the systems work and do a gas pressure check in addition to the damp check.
In most cases it seems that they do not even do many checks and overlook many things that are very obvious. "

Just shows how little you know about the requirements of a full service! or what is involved in making sure all the utilities work correctly and safely !!!

I'm sorry but this statement is woefully misguided, and I think you should reconsider it.

There will be some cases (but NOT most) who might not follow the full procedure, but I suspect the majority will do a pretty good job, or if there is an oversight its a genuine mistake rather than a deliberate act.

And the one thing I hate about the end of the service is when they clagg a dated service sticker on the A Frame !

They don't have to !!
If you ask the service guy not to do that and just give it to you so that you can put it where you like.
Some folk like it on the A frame(the sticker that is !), others prefer it by the door, so I always just give them the sticker.

I just keep my stickers in the van just in case a site should ask for proof of service. But that’s never ever been asked for in many many years.
