setting up satallite.

I have been trawling through previous posts to check before posting a thread. I know i have seen it on here. A quick and easy way to set up a satellite dish for caravaning. Could someone point me in the right place please. I am using freeview on Astra 2.

Kind regards best wishes Steve.

There are two variables:elevation and direction.

I found it easier to set up my tripod on level ground at home, follow the usual instructions, and do an initial set up while not under campsite pressure!

Lock the adjustor for elevation and scribe two marks on the mount so you can always go back to a known good elevation.

On site do an initial sweep for direction and then fine tune for elevation if you are not on level ground.

Average time to set up 2-3 minutes.Record was to lock onto a signal on initial sweep and return to caravan to find son watching sky.

Stephen if you scroll down the page of Equip and access you will find an easy guide written by by Sir Roger on how to set this system it takes only minutes

Good Luck

Sir Roger

heres how i have done it and now can have sky working in the time it takes to fill aqua roll.

plug all bits and bobs in inccluding sat finder. look at an other sat dish and point mine in roughly same direction but a bit to the left (as looking down LNB arm) slowly swing to right till sat meter goes beep. once sorted lock all bolts.

adjust elavation up down to fine tune.

now when packing up, dont dismantle the satelite just unscrew cable as for the majority of places your elavatiuoin will be fine

Hi Stephen, just seen your post, you cannot get Freeview through a satt dish only freesat, if you have freeview that is an ordinary ariel, but you will need a good signal.
