Bought a 2nd hand Elddis Jetsream 2000 last month and took it out for the 1st time this weekend. Noticed a crack in the shower tray that we didn't know aboutwhen we bought it. Dealership have said they will check to see if it is covered under warranty. If it isn't does anyone have an idea of cost to replace as we know that damp and caravans do not mix!

Celia this happened to my 1999 swift challenger 490 twice and each time it was covered by warranty. The second time they trimmed some of the padding at the bottom to make it fit flush to the floor and it never happened again As to cost ????

Celia

If it is not covered under warranty give your local window fitter a call. They use a chemical to fix windows frames that will glue the crack and seal it in one go. Our old fleetwood has a crack in the shower and took sometime to get a replacement. A window fitter repaired the crack in the meantime and it worked great.

The dealers said that when they removed the tray, the fix was all the way through the plastic and no water had reached the floor. They where very impressed with the liquid used.

We've had this problem twice in 2 different vans.

On a previous Avondale Malvern we had it replaced under insurance because I believe it had been broken by something being dropped on it. The insurance disputed this at first but then agreed to cover it when I wrote in. The shower tray in that case doubled as the bathroom floor as they were combined. It didn't take too long to get this replacement if I remember correctly

In our present Avondale Landranger the shower had a doubtful looking repair in one corner. Campbells of Preston removed the tray and had it repaired pretty invisibly by their bodywork repairer. I was very pleased with this repair and it's still fine 4 years later. This was covered by the warranty we had bought with this secondhand van.

Hope you can get it sorted quickly

Sorry I don't know the cost in either case.

Best wishes

Tim
