Single Electrics to Twin Electrics?

I've got twin electrics on my towing car and these match the twin sockets on the Caravan so I can tow with brake lights, lights, indicators all working. However, I have another car that is old and only has 1 towing socket. I hooked it up to the Caravan but it only worked the rear lights, no brake lights or indicators so is useless. I've trawled the web trying to find if there is an adaptor to make it twin electric but have had no luck. Does anyone know how I can cheaply convert my single socket to a twin or do I need to just get a whole new electric set up? Thanks in advance for any advise.

All the road lights (not reversing) are powered from the single 12N socket, so it would appear that the car electrics need "sorting".

Hi guys, sorry to interrupt but I have single electrics on my car but a new Explore caravan which they sold me with a twin adaptor for the Euro plug on it.

Is it hard to upgrade to a double socket on the car? I see the twin sockets for less than twenty quid but I'm sure the labour would be sky high at the local garage to do it!

Any diagrams or info for this would be much appreciated.

If your car only has single 12N electrics, your caravan a 13-pin plug and you are considering an upgrade, why not go straight for 13-pin electrics on the car as well?

I had a car upgraded from single to twin electric a couple of years ago and it cost me

I would expect the cost of going straight to 13-pin electrics would be about the same. If anything, it should even be a fraction cheaper as only one socket is required. At the same time, you'd also avoid the need for an adapter so it would be a better solution.
