Sadly my husband died in december and I am now considering if i will be able to continue motorhoming on my own. Does anyone have any experience of this?. Are there clubs for single campers? are their sites which are more suitable for single campers

Very sorry to read of your loss.

Both the Caravan Club and the Camping and Caravanning Club have single members who enjoy the company of others at meets.

If you enjoy your motorhome, I would suggest joining either or both clubs and attending some of the local meets where I am sure you will receive a warm welcome.

I too am sad to hear of your sad loss. I've seen similar enquiries from others like yourself in this forum. In spite of doing a search I can't come up with anything.

I would have thought the posts were under Events, rallies and owners' clubs but for some reason there are now only two pages of posts under that topic going back as far as last August.

Whether they are having a tidy up of the forum I don't know but perhaps His Moddyship can enlighten us :O)

Whatever the outcome, good luck and I think you will find there are a few such clubs that will cater for your needs.

You might find some listed in the adverts at the back of the C.C. mag :O)

Johan I must also offer my condolences for your sad loss in December. Have a look at the sister web site "www.practicalmotorhome.co.uk" There could be some good advice for you there. Last time I looked at that forum it was very slow compared to this PC forum.

Hi Johan. Want some advice - "CARRY ON CAMPING" - you are obviously an experienced camper and as a motorhomer you will not have the problem of hitching up and siteing etc. We have met many "single" campers both Female and Male even in France and down in deep south Spain and they all seem to cope very well, and as you know, help is never far away. I defy anyone to say that there is never a time when two pair of hands is needed. The thing is you should not be afraid to ask, I for one would be most upset if you needed help and did not ask. If you keep to the good sites like Caravan Club and Camping and Caravanning Club so much the better and travel sense like times and main roads you should not compromise your well being. Its a sad time for you and only time can heal your loss. Don't sit around get out there Johan, just say this is the beginning of the rest of my life. We will be looking out for you. Good luck.JTS.
