SITE FOR 2011 DEVON & WHICH CARAVAN CLUB ????

WE ARE NEW TO CARAVANING AND JUST BOUGHT A 1990 SPRITE MUSKATEER 4 BERTH , WE ARE LOOKING FOR A SITE IN DEVON FOR 10 DAYS NEXT YEAR BUT MUST HAVE A INDOOR AND OUTDOOR POOL / BAR - CLUB ON SITE / CHIPPY ETC , I HAVE LOOKED AT A FEW AND THE ONLY ONE I THINK IT GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY IS HORBURNE TORBAY , AS ANYONE BEEN TO THIS SITE , THERE ARE A FEW OTHERS BUT ARE EXPENSIVE , LADYS MILE IS ANOTHER SITE BUT I AM PUT OFF BY THE EXTRA ELECTRIC METER CARDS THEY HAVE INTRODUCED , ALSO LADRAM BAY LOOKS GOOD BUT EXPENSIVE AND YOU HAVE TO PRE BOOK THE POOL EITHER MORNING OR AFTERNOON ....

ANYWAY ANOTHER PROBLEM IS THAT THE CARAVAN CLUB ALTHOUGH LETS YOU BOOK THERE SITES ONLINE AND DONT CHARGE DEPOSITS , I SEE THAT MOST SITES DONT OFFER POOLS AND CLUBS - PUBS - BARS ETC AND SEEM TO ME TO BE QUITE BORING , I KNOW THERE ARE A FEW SITES WITH POOLS BUT ONLY ABOUT 4/6 IN THE WHOLE COUNTRY , ALSO THE CAMPING AND CARAVAN CLUB , OFFER SITES WITH FAMILY FACILITYS BUT WHAT DO U GET FOR YOUR MONEY , THAY CHARGE DEPOSITS JUST LIKE THE SITES DO BUT THE SITES DONT OFFER ANY DISCOUNTS COS YOUR A MEMBER ? ...

WIdend Caravan Site at Marldon, Paignton is a spotless family run site for families - no single sex parties. It has an outdoor pool, club house, shop and part time take away. It is a very clean and being family orientated there are very little problems there. My wife and I have been regular visitors to this site and the teanage grand children are never bored there. It is very central for Torquay, Paignton, Brixham, Totnes and Dartmouth so there are plenty of holiday resorts in close proximity. Wherever you should go have a good break and hopefully the weather will also be kind to you.

thankyou i think i am going to try the hoburne site in torbay ... i have looked at the sites u both mentioned but the missis wants a indoor pool with slide , in case its raining , not that that matters as your going to get wet anyway .... cheers

When you are down that way call in to a few other sites to see what they have to offer. Site owners are generally very accommodating to allow prospective holiday makers to have a quick look at what is on offer. Have a great holiday
