Site needed near Saarlouis, germany

Starting to plan my overnight stops for trip to Italy.

I won't post them altogether rather 1 by 1.

After landing at Dunkerque at midday I reckon on 300 miles which should get me to just after Saarlouis on the A8. I need an overnight stop here.

All suggestions welcome.

Regards

Ian

300 miles from midday is quite ambitious! However, we've stayed at Camping Ohmbachsee using a similar route. It's a Camping Cheques site (378) and you can get full details from their webite. It's little bit out of the way, but it's a decent site. If you don't quite make Saarlouis, then I can also recommend Camping Mamer which is just off the motorway in Luxembourg (around 230 miles) and is an excellent transit site and well used by the Dutch. Doesn't have its own website, but details here www.eurocampings.co.uk/en/europe/luxembourg/campsite-mamer-105331/

Thanks John

Don't forget its not 'really' midday. Clocks gone forward 1 hour, so its really only 11 am. Travel 2 hours (100 miles) 1/2 hour break for lunch, further 2&1/2 hours (125 miles) with a 1/2 hour break for tea and scones followed by last 1&1/2 hours (75 miles). This gets me on-site for 6pm (7pm local). Enough time for a meal and lots of rest.

I will look at the site you posted and I really value the comments about being ambitious. Its always good to have another 'voice' saying 'too much' thanks

Actually just checked. Ferry from Dover is 8am so I am in France at 10am/11am so 300 miles between 2 drivers I think is ok.

Thanks John that looks fine.
