what about Brean, Somerset?

We havent stayed in this area but have often popped up that area with the dog (we live in Devon) and have noticed there is a site right on the beach, it looked pretty basic but it was literally right on the beach. Beach is huge at Brean, and we have often seen people sea fishing there. Sea can be rough at times as it is exposed to the elements.

Sorry, Barney just realised you are in Cumbria!...so miles away.

Another site I noticed in the CC book was in Scotland, either Ayshire or Galloway (sorry cant remember) but I can remember seeing a picture of a site right on the shoreline.

Just found it in the CC book - DRUMMORE, New England Bay, with direct access to the beach, looks nice and would be closer for you.

Barney,

Theres a great little place called Silecroft, it`s near Millom in Cumbria, there is a smashing little site really close to a sloping shingle beach, I believe that a lot of macerel are being caught at the moment, In the village there is the Miners arms pub, they do great food and have steak night Wed curry night thurs, and if you get tired of fishing the lakes are on the doorstep.

About three miles away there is the village of Haverigg, there is good fishing off the sea wall also the edge of the channel has prove friutfull. In nearby Millom you can fish off the old peer, and there is beach fishing from a lovely area known localy as the mains, if you want a bit of seclusion, ask direction to "White rock" a beautiful little cove with a good channel for fishing.

There, now have I sold it to you?

What do you want to go dashing all over the country for? mind you I don`t know the answer either.

tight lines mate see you

Tony A.

New England Bay near Stranraer in Dumfries And Galloway ia a CC site, it is a super site for couples and families and the dogs have a great time on the beach. The site is pretty spread out so plenty of space for everyone
