Hi Jim,

The Caravan Club have a site just off the northern ring road .....called Beechwood Grange. You can then drive to a Park and Ride nearby to go into York. This is by far the easiest way because taking a car into the city is a big NO NO.

The Club also have a site in the city itself.....Rowntree Park, where you can walk into town. However,it is usually always fully booked.Hope this is of some use to you.

Hi Jim,

If you are menbers of the C&CC there is always the Sheriff Hutton site. We have used it about three times and always found it to be very good. There is park and ride into York quite nearby.

The Cc site Beechwood Grange is lovely, we're returning there for a weekend at the end of March, it will be our 5th year using the site. The site is flat. A fish and chip van visits the site, has been on a Friday evening in the past. To get into York, use the park and ride, its easier than trying to park in York. There is an out of town shopping area, with supermarkets etc and some pubs which do food a short drive away. Barrons is just up the A64 going towards Scarborough if you need anything for the caravan. The A64 around York can get a bit busy on a Friday evening, rush hour time.

Rowntree Cc site we have heard is good, always fully booked when we have tried to get in. Hope this helps Annette
