Hi All,

As sites get full early I am now planning my October half term trip already and would like to visit North Wales.

Does anyone know of any good sites around the Wrexham area with EHU and a toilet block ?

Have been looking at The Plassey and Lady Margaret's. The Plassey looks nice but they charge £2 per dog so we would be paying £4 a night for our two which is rediculous.

Has anyone been to Lady Margaret's ??

Many Thanks

Ian

Hi Ian,

Stayed at Lady Margarets,at the begining of November last year,

usual good cc standards. It was then not to busy, lots of members

had dogs so it must be a good site for them.We used it as a base

for seeing the area,it good for walks along the canal pathway, there's shops etc.within walking distance.

Depending on the way the wind is blowing, there is a little noise

from the wood processing factory about a mile away, but it was no problem. There was a report about the site in a recent club mag.Hope this helps.

Regards,

FrankE.

Ian, why don't you ask John B who posts on here and owns it. Make a deal with him, tell him you'll write a good report on the site if he don't charge for your dogs :O)

Hi

We've stayed at a couple of sites in North Wales. Glanlyn just on the outskirts of Bala, right on the shores of the lake. Manor Wood just on the outskirts of Chester not far from Wrexham. It depends how far into Wales you want to go. We stayed at another not far from Portmeirion called Coed-y-Llwyn.

We have stayed at the both Lady Margarets and the Plassey. Both are very nice - it just depends what you want from a site.

Lady Margarets is up to the usual club standard with some very nice walks from the site as I recall.

Plassey is more commercial with bar / restaurant and pool etc. We went there for the golf course which is next door to the site which we found very reasonable.

Would recommend them both.

Although close to the beach and walkable into town,Bodafon Fields Llandudno are located next to a main road, the ground is uneven and there are no facilities.

Dinerth Hall Farm is much improved and has electrics etc.

LLandulas has good pitches, good views club house but is right next to the A55 dual carriage way.

Of the three I would choose Dinerth hall. It's a great touring base for both coast and mountains.

Not the cheapest of sites (but not THAT dear!) is Bron Y Wendon in Llandullas, between Abergele and Llandudno.

Search for the web site on Google.

Facilities are excellent and usually spotless. Lot of grass pitches though, which can get sodden if it rains a lot - and as your talking of summer ............

Lee.

Hi Ian

Try Bron Derw, Llanrws - http://www.bronderw-wales.co.uk/

we use this one quite a lot, mainly to visit the in-laws.

There is a five ptch Caravan Club CL and a 25 pitch touring park, all fully serviced.
