River Breamish Caravan Club site at Powburn about 10 miles north west of Alnwick is our favourite. Fine if you want country side.

Agree with the others River breamish is grand. If you want to be nearer the big city, the CC site azt Witley Bay is also great although not as peaceful as Wooler. If you want to go over the border try the CL at Kelso leisure centre - excellent.

Hello Jason

Recently spent a lovely week at the River Breamish site (Powburn). Lovely walk along the river access directly from the site, and if you are lucky you could spot an otter(s) (unfortunately we didn't - probably something to do with Maisie tramping around!).

Another site you could look at is South Meadows Caravan and Tenting Site. Although a privately owned site the amenities are spotless and the site is extremely well run by the owners who are resident on site. If you are a golfer (keen or otherwise) there is Belford golf club (which serves meals) within a few minutes of South Meadows. Belford village can be sauntered to in less than 10 minutes.

Powburn site is approximately 20 miles inland from Bambrough (as the crow flies). South Meadows is just off the A1 (no trouble with noise though) and is 6 miles inland from Bambrough.

I would highly recommend both sites, having stayed on them.

Dont you hate it when you press the wrong key??

We have visited a range of sites in Northumberland.

Dunston Hill C&CC.

Really nice site, 10 minutes from Beadnell but most things are out of walking distance.

Waren Mill.

Another really nice site. It has an okay shop, bar/eatery place and a small pool and games room. The toilet block is really clean too. Follow the A1 north bound just past Belford and then about a mile after that turn right, that should take you over a level crossing. Right at the tee junction (it creeps up on you!). After you pass the bay de la bird watchers turn right at the caravan sign.

East Ord Caravan Park.

This site has won awards in the past for its WC block. On site bar/games room/eatery. Even the god walk seems to be kept clean!! A really good thing about this site is its surrounded by trees. It could be a force 9 wind outside the walls but inside its just a breeze. I am partial to this site as I have grew up on it since I was about 3 and I'm 36 now! Its a nice 15 minute walk into Berwick too

Wooler Riverside.

Nice site and well within walking distance to Wooler for local shops etc.

Bellingham C&CC site.

Probably run by the most energetic and happy couple I have ever had the pleasure to meet! We are going back to this site this weekend. Its a nice walk into Bellingham and its close to Kielder Water. The site s kept spotlessly clean and so to are the WC/showers.

We have had a look at Belford South Meadows site and it does look lovely. Also the Seaview CC club site in Berwick upon Tweed looks very nice too.

Well, I guess I wont get a job at the Northumberland Tourist Board, but there you go!!
