Lin & John

Being married to a man who wont go anywhere without fishing very nearby could probably mention a few

Until recently have had to take a couple of teenagers so spent more time on sites with activities for them but last year managed a week on our own at Orchard Park at Hubberts Bridge just outside Boston in Lincs

Small park, one side for statics which were I think all owner occupied and which had a play area for young children,a couple of slot machines, the reception area with tourist information and a small bar

Across the road is the touring area, toilets clean with several cubicles for shower, toilet and washbasin combined as well as toilets and showers, dishwashing etc Another play area for youngsters, shop selling very basics with a cafe attached for breakfast, lunch or tea, small menu but tasty

The site was adding some lodges at this side but not sure how many

Fishing by a lake on the touring side, quite a decent size, catch from any peg and theres also the drain on the static side up and down quite a slope but popular, the static owners have their own angling club but not restricted to them

Nice pub also doing meals about 10 mins easy walk away and supermarkets in 5 mins drive

Skirlington, on the East Coast between Bridlington and Hornsea. - It's quite a large site but I find it reasonably quiet and the pitches are large. If your talking fishing (that's why I go) it's dynamite!!! There's a fishing lake on site but I don't fish that. There's a static caravan site next door called Far Grange (about 1 mile down the road). Opposite Far Grange, there's a country park with an amazing fishing lake. I've never fished anywhere better.

I live in Hereford and can vouch what joby says but what I might add is it's a bit tight going through Mordiford village with a caravan if approaching FROM Hereford so take care, also a narrow bridge over the river too. The Millpond is only a small pool bit seems popular. Another local fishing site is Pearl Lake --- http://www.bestparks.co.uk/PearlLakeTouring1.htm

If I can also add that another local site under www.bestparks.co.uk - Poston Mill also advertises fishing, on the River Dore but it is hardly more than a stream with small trout.

Hi, i visit a lovely site in Dorset called Lyon's gate country and caravaning park just outside Dorchester, it has 4 various sized lakes on site with many different species of fish, a little onsite tackle and bait shop and mains hook up and showers etc and your always assured of a warm welcome by the site owners and the nightly fee's are very reasonable, and i have set many a pb whilst fishing there.
