Could anyone advise me on what they have thought of Woolacombe bay the twitchen house site and also the Hendra site in newquay.

Went to Hendra in 1977 saw the grumble weeds their great site at the time really reasonable.

We thought of going back as we were only 22 &23 at the time, not so sure looking at the tariff and all the rules and regulations, especially for dogs so will give it a miss and stay with the CC sites.

But if you can afford it, great site for families and lots of entertainment

We have stayed at Twitchen and also at their sister site Golden Sands.

We have just received their brochure for 2010 and it states they have upgraded a number of the pitches to All Weather with water points so that is an improvement.

We never had a problem getting in the pools (unlike an other holiday park chain I would avoid like the plague, but am not allowed to mention) as there are about 10 amongst the 4 sites and the evening entertainment is not bad (in our opinion). The bars get busy in the evenings, but that is hardly unusual.

The beach in Woolacombe is fantastic, and I am sure we will revisit.

Had a seasonal pitch at Twitchen for 2 years. Loved the site, the area and the facilities it provided. Thing we found was even in the quieter months if they said something was open it was open, even the kids clubs when there was only 2 or 3 kids.
