i think thats a no then.have you been to any of the others i have asked about.I checked it out, it seems as if you are in the middle of an industrial park. It has to be the worse C.C. site I have seen. Saying that its close to the amusements for kids and you only have to walk over the sea defence wall and you are on the beach. I say beach loosely because when we were kids the beach had a lot of clay in it, not much sand. The site is actually in Ingoldmells, just outside of Skeggy.
I wonder if people might still be able to catch crabs?Jim I did say when I was a kid it had clay, which was a long time ago, and I did say it was close to the beach. If I recall rightly when the sea goes out, which is a long way, the clay is then exposed. Its all down to personal choice though, I prefer greenery and peace and quiet which you wont get on that site. Wherever you look it is a sea of caravans and statics , literally thousands of them, and views of the amusement parks rides. Butlitz is close by too, they were building that when my parents hired a caravan at Ingoldmells. Each to their own, ok for kids as I said before but not if you want views and solitude instead of noise and looking at a big commercial building/offices that seems to be part of the site.
thanks, thats a no thenNever been there myself but a friend stayed a couple of years ago. They were booked in for 2 weeks and left after 5 nights! Apparently, the site has a tendency to be noisy and is OK if you are looking for amusement arcades and fish'n'chip shops!!!
heheheh! Lisa, I remember that well, going to The Point at Ingoldmells. We tied a stone to some string then bought a bag of shrimps for bait. We even caught 2 eels. A stream used to run into the sea by The Point.I wonder if people might still be able to catch crabs?

if tou want a bucket and spade holiday with kids,go for it.the site is up to club standards it has family shower rooms, yes it can be busy but it is not a big siteso it is not bad.we spend most of the summer in the scottish highlands,so we enjoy the peace and beauty of such places, but we enjoy taking the grandchildren to the site at skeggy for a week.yesskegness is as some would say"tacky"but tacky can be fun and there is plenty of things to do and places in the vicinityto see to make for an enjoyable holidayJo-Anne
been over to skegness when we stayed at Clumber Park last March.
Swore I would never go again. Like the Blackpool of the East coast, tacky and full of arcades, bingo etc. Best part of the visit was Gibralter Point, which is a nature reserve and you can watch the, Birds and the RAF bombing target ships out in the Wash.
Tacky, Tacky, Tacky, took some rock back for the lads at work!!!!
