Can someone tell me why this website is so slow, I have no problems with any other site only this one and it's driving me bonkers.

See it's so slow, I have now posted twice, because I did not think anything was going to happen
.If you look at the posting times you will see how long I waited before reposting.

A website in itself would neither be fast or slow, it's normally the download speed that is the issue.
If for you this particular website often seems to be slow the problem may be due to a number of factors, such as the type of internet connection you are using, your web browser or the settings on your computer.
Slow download speeds on one particular website are often a symptom of server update issues and Microsoft are in the process of developing diagnostic software which will identify such issues, fix them automatically and hopefully increase your download speed.
The Microsoft software is still in the Beta stage I think, but it's safe to use and should work ok. Click Here for the Microsoft Fix it Solution Center.

Parksy, whilst I bow to your greater computer expertise, I must agree with the OP. PC has been slow for some time now, and all other forums OK.
It was so slow this morning that I called in our mender man, who went through my pc, changed the oil, adjusted the brakes, gave it a new MOT etc.
Now all the other forums are even faster, but good old PC is still so slow that I can almost make the tea while waiting for it to change threads!
Anyone else having problems?

Yes I too have been finding it very slow to load compared to other sites that I visit. It is the same whether I use the Mac and IPod on Safari or our PCs on IE or Chrome.

Having the same problems with a download speed of
2350831023.png

Whilst running Google Chrome.
I also use IE9 to get some sort of comparrison, but it can take between 7 to 10 seconds even at this download speed so i dread to think how slow it is running on a slower connection, but the adverts are there in a flash as always !

As previously said other sites are not a problem.
( maybe the server is on a 3A supply )

But the blue wheel in the tab keeps on spinning to say that it is loading, it has got to be the servers that supply the information back, more so when the site has a lot of traffic with people viewing all sorts of things from the home page to the fourum.
Test your download speed on the link below.

The website became a bit slow earlier today for me, it may be due to high volumes of internet traffic but for me at least the speed is back to normal again now.
Use the new Feedback tag on the right hand side of the forum page to leave details about the problem and hopefully Haymarket will look into it.

The website has been very slow here for the past few days, and that's despite having 65+ mbps download speed. As a previous post has suggested, I don't have any problems with any other site. Strange.

You could try clearing the cache on your computer, deleting old files and performing a registry clean up, that might speed thing up a bit for you Nigel

I am finding it slow and even with a PC where I have just re-installed Windows it is slower than other sites. Unfortunately since making the change to a Mac ( much regret) I really dont know how to do the things you recommend as the beast seems to have a life of its own and Apple do their darndest to retain the mystique. Oh well only another 5 years till I can return to Windows!

Do you surf the site whilst logged in or logged out? If logged in it is forever checking for new updates and therefore runs slower that if you are logged out. I only log in when I want to do a posting and then immediately log out again.
