We use a 4x4 for towing and a VW Polo 1.1 for running around, works well for us.

My wife has had a Citroen C2 for over 4 years and we've been very happy with it. A friend has a C1 and they're also very pleased with it. The C1 is good value for money and is made in the same factory as the Toyota Aygo, so has had good reviews and has also proved itself to be very economical.
