Small side doors

We visited a caravan show recently and noticed that several of the new vans on show had 'half height' doors on the side, near the back, which when opened gave access to the rear beds. We found this a bit off putting as this is the end our kids sleep at and were wondering what the purpose of them was.

I wished we had asked a salesman now, as it has puzzled us ever since.

Jay, The small door at the back is normally for accessing the rear storage space created when one or more of the rear bunks are folded away. The storage area is handy for use when on site but not when travelling as this would create an unbalanced load.

I think a salesman would probably call the space a 'bike garage' - at least that's what we've been told - somewhere to keep the kids bikes/toys safe! In some of the bigger motorhomes (and I mean bigger) we've seen them used to house a full-size scooter!!
