Its just a thought, but the horrible smell you noticed in the caravan might have been the awning itself, so while you're airing the awning try opening the caravan to see if the fresh air does it a bit of good. By the way when you say old man smelly do you mean Paco Rabanne ultraviolet man or are we talking Old Spice? Those are what I smell of and I'm old :0)
