It’s October and up here in Scotland it is wet and windy but not that cold yet, and when I come in here I’ve got snow falling across some on screen adverts. Could we not wait until December? Not just any old adverts either but Christmas adverts! It’ll be carols and decorations next, bah humbug. Talking of decorations a friend works in Mothercare and was saying they put their Christmas tree up in the store last weekend. Still won’t be long until I can buy a chocolate Easter Egg.

Rob, Adverts what are they?????
I Use an ad blocker and I wont get any snow until it falls outside and even then that's not very likely down here in the South.

Look on the bright side.
It won't be long before the annual Neville (Noddy) Holder pension fund renewal cranks up again.
That's right folks, every time that Christmas hit Merry Christmas Everybody belts out of store PA systems the ex frontman of seventies glam rockers Slade, who hailed from my local area, adds a couple of quid to his coffers.
Brummie Roy Wood comes a close second, we went to his Christmas show in the Symphony Hall, Birmingham last year, it was fantastic.
Midlands music, irritating generations of shoppers :woohoo:

Fact: If some one is playing Christmas music in October you are legally allowed to kill them and use their body as a Halloween decoration.

Oh What a grumpy lot you are, already have a Halloween, party, for adults, the Christmas and New Year, life is too short to be miserable. Come on good frosty and snowy winter, love opening the caravan door to a foot of snow and seeing the dogs running about in it, and a warm Gluvien in the pub.
Have a Merry Christmas And a Happy New Year.
Safe touring in the snow.
Hutch. :p

Hutch I want no talk of snow, stick to the pub. :p

This will be my first winter without a 4 wheel drive for 18 years so I want all roads treated and nothing white on the ground otherwise Nurse Jenny may be stuck at home.

Don't mind the white stuff, been in it a few times! -- What I don't like is that other white stuff they scatter all over it in the hope of making it disappear. NaCl and caravans don't mix.

Just out of curiosity I tried to google how much Noddy Holder earns each year from that song. The amount given varied on the info source between half and one million quid, some said that was split between the band others implying that was Noddy’s cut alone. Not a bad little earner in any case.
I actually enjoy hearing that song as it somehow always takes me back in time to the early seventies when I was obviously much (very much) younger. The early seventies were good times!
When was there last a real good Christmas song in the music charts? It all seems to boil down to whoever wins the X Factor.

We love it. Anyone who has caravanned in the snow will appreciate how snug and cosy the caravan is :)

I'm up to my ears in Christmas music scores at the moment.
The choir that I sing with are always very busy performing at various events over the Christmas period, and we hold a Christmas concert featuring different songs every year.
We began to learn the Christmas programme at the beginning of September, with rehearsals twice a week. :woohoo:

Parksy as long as you get the Singing correct on November the 11th. Good luck.
Hutch.

Thanks Hutch
Providing choral music at Remembrance services is always a great honour and privilege.
This year will be no exception :)

The people who earn the most from old songs are the songwriters, Shakin Stevens' Merry Christmas Everyone is a good example the songwriter earns around £300,000 pa from the song, Shaky £10-15,000, in the case of Merry Christmas Everybody, Noddy Holder and Jim Lea wrote it jointly as they did many of Slade 's hits and, they split about £500,000 a year between them, the other band members get very little.
