Snowed in

Last Friday we were in the peak district during the blizzard and the 4 way roof light which at 60MPH keeps out any water ended up full of snow even though it was closed and the van was pitched, the bad news was that we did not find out until we were going to bed as it is situated directly over the bed and lots of the snow had melted and soaked all the bedding through to the mattress. The van looked like a chinese laundry with sheets duvet and topper all either hung over doors or stood up drying off.I think that the van manufacturers should not put any rooflights or vents over beds as the grief it causes is immense`

Crikey Monty, that's awful!
I hope that the matress soon dries out and no serious damage was done.
We were planning a trip to the Peak District over Easter, we were due to stay on a CS at Cromford near to Crich Tramway Village Museum where the 1940s weekend is due to take place if it's not cancelled.
We've decided against taking the caravan now, so instead of a short break from Friday until Tuesday we will just go for a day trip on Monday if the weather behaves itself.
The caravan can stay under cover until the snow has gone completely.

Yes bad luck and bad design re the snow. I recall a couple near us sat in their awning watching a cracking thunderstorm in France. Unfortunately no one noticed the sliding roof light over the lounge was wide open and their front bed was made up!
