Solar Panel does it for us, even on a French pine forest site the panel worked. Next to no wind for three weeks though!

Hi,

We have a 44 watt solar panel and charge controller on our Eriba Triton. This allows us to be independent of mains hook up for two weeks (or more) during the Summer - obviously we run the fridge on gas, and use the battery for the water pump, lights at bed time, and the radio / Hi Fi.

We got into this after we met a Swiss couple with another Eriba Triton who had used this idea for Summer camping for years.

We had looked at micro Wind generators - like those on the side of motorways and yachts in harbour - but they are really expensive (

Hello Clive :

I found Robert's posting very helpful as I have recently purchased a 43watt Kiocera panel. I used it for the first time last week when we were 7 days without mains hookup. The result was BRILLIANT. Using normal lighting; listening to the stereo for perhaps 3 hours per day; using the taps and water pump (twice per day approx); the battery remained at full charge. We had variable sunshine in Somerset, but still we remained on full charge! Highly recommended.

Any recommendations on where to buy?
Dr Fran Tattersall

I have received first class service from this firm. Fran spent quite some time in determining the 'right' solar panel for my needs. It all installed easily and was operational seconds later.

Hi Clive,

I think it's important to buy a quality panel - maybe Kyocera or Sharp - and a Suntech charge controller.

A 44 watt Kyocera panel will cost around
