Some help please: Mystery Item

I have a unknown item that was with all the documents and bits when I bought my caravan. Can anyone identify/inform me of it's purpose? Some Google-fu identified that it was made by Maypole... but I am still unable to identify it. Your help is appreciated.

It's 12 volt cigar plug.fitting.

Sometimes the red bit on the end (which you take off to make it a DIN-type connector) comes off and gets stuck in the cigar lighter without you noticing. You then spend ages wondering why a standard cigar plug will no longer fit into the socket 😛

Thanks for this... it seems that it is a wire-it-yourself adapter for 12volt appliance. Not sure I'll ever use it!

I've never seen or even heard of a DIN-type connector... are they common?

Normally look like this, my last few vans have certainly used them for 12 volt side
