HI,
Obviously, I am not looking for a CL site where they cannot have a van long term, but we have bought a twin axle that we would like to leave in Somerset, preferably Exmoor, for the summer if not for the whole year. Working at the moment we have a tourer and go to the area 2 - 3 times a year (since 1990) but with retirement on the horizon would like to leave the van there and go back and fore. We want a CL type site, not a residentil serviced site. Anyone know of somewhere ? Of course Exmoor being in National Parks ( we live in a N Park) it is difficult to hide a caravan that is there too long !

Although a Somerset resident, I don't know the west side too well. On the east side, there is a site at Sparkford on A303 NE of Yeovil which does have long-term / seasonal pitches as do Southfork Caravans at Martock. Southfork site is owned and operated by the same fold as run the Approved Workshop on the same site and I know they have long term/ seasonal vans.
I will declare an interest an dsay they have serviced my van for many years to my entire satisfaction and we have often joked that we will go there for a break, a whole 12 miles away from home. Look at the website and you will see. www.southforkcaravans.co.uk
Not quite as countrified as Exmoor but great scenery, a very quiet site and plenty to do and see in the area. 8 or 9 NT properties, Haynes Motor Museum, FAA Museum Yeovilton, Sherborne - easy drive down to Chesil Beach, Glastonbury, Clarks Village at Street, Cheddar,
Shaftsbury, Wincanton, Bath & West Showground events, Batcombe bitter, Montgomery cheddar, and largely without the usual coastal tourist rip-offs. We even have free parking in most of the local towns. Super job, as we say round here.
