No word of a lie, I had an Aunt who paid for a cleaner to come in twice a week. The day before the cleaner came my Aunt used to *** round with the vacuum cleaner, do a bit of dusting and tidy up so the cleaner didn't think she / the house was dirty. Couldn't help thinking about her when I read your post.
I was offered a free showroom standard valet by my Kia dealership’s chairman. Having been away with the dog and into mucky areas I did not think it fair to present the car in such a mucky condition. So not really a comparison with your aunt.
I used our Miele cat and dog vacuum cleaner on the car and it seems to do the job with the odd hair needing removal by hand. Our new top of the range Dyson cordless vacuum is useless at removing dog hair even on Boost! However it is lighter and easier to carry to the car than the Miele.
That’s the one I have. I use an older Dyson upright with several accessories and it does a decent job, but dog hairs can cause cut problems. My old Citroen BX estate was all plastic in the rear. No soft fluffy stuff. Dead easy to keep clean but rattled like heck as it accrued miles.
The vehicle had leather seats and in the rear the seats are folded down. On top we have a proper dog cover clips over the front headrests and also acts as a restraint. On top of that we have an old picnic blanket and at the very rear there is a rubber mat so generally the carpet section is well protected. However the off hair still manages to find a carpet to cling on. LOL!
Wrt Dyson it’s an upright DC Animal that must be over 20 years old and has more than paid back its purchase costs, plus spares are still readily available and it’s easy to repair/maintain if required. The Sonax was a Christmas gift as when asked what I want for Xmas or birthday there’s not much that I actually want or need. So the Sonax was a heath measure that prevented wine, beer or cheeses being given to me. 😂Oh how the other half live hey, Miele, Dyson, Sonax ... wow ... ! Sticky tape from Home Bargain for me is about as good as it gets. I always knew I was a peasant caravaner, maybe one day I'll run to affording a roll of proper branded Duck Tape to remove the cattle hairs from the back of my cart... lol
