Southwest France Weather.

Hi All,

We are looking at taking next years summer holiday in the far southwest of france, not to far from biaritz. I think the site is la Paillotte. What is the weather like i this region?. Could we expect long hot sunny days? Or is it more unsettled.

Thanks for any Feedback.

darren,

We were in Biarittz last august and had 5 days of rain, i think it just depends, because the weather was awful everywhere last summer.

You may be lucky and get wall to wall sunshine.

We go to Biarritz each August. We came back last week (it now seems years ago). I think the correct term is 'changeable'.

We've had spectacular storms every year. Some days it can be up to 40 degrees, the next couple could be down to the low 20's and we've even had some mini hurricanes that have destroyed tents and awnings and even overturned a couple of 'vans. During our three week stays we have never had continual sunshine. But then that would be boring

Seriously, if you want weather guaranteed this isn't the area but it is a fantastic place for a holiday. The Vendee has a better sunshine record.

I also spend some time in this area each year en route to Spain usually late April and again early June and just love it but the proximity of the Pyrenees makes the weather most unreliable.

If You want sun you might be lucky but the med is a better choice.

Dave
