Spare wheel for Adria Optima

My Adria does not have a spare. What is the most cost effective way to get hold of one? Just had new tyres fitted the fitter felt a Maestro/montego wheel might do it if I had the holes drilled bigger to fit the studs through. He put a mini wheel up to it and the wholes were in right place just too small - the mini wheel was only 10 inch though. It has 13 inch wheels.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated thanks.

If your caravan has an ALKO or BPW chassis, then it uses a standard wheel - so Damian's advice is spot on.

Don't use a car wheel for several reasons:

1. Car wheels are built to take the car weight across 4 wheels - a caravan often has a similar weight (85% towing guideline) across 2 wheels - so caravan wheels are built "stronger"

2. Aside from getting the wheel diameter and wheel stud pattern correct, you also need to get the correct rim width for the intended tyres (the J rating - it will be stamped on the wheel)

3. Aside from the wheel diameter, wheel stud, and J rating - you also need to get the Offset correct - the centre of the wheel rim can be in-line with the mounting, or inset or outset - this can easily mean that the wheel will foul the body work or suspension.

Find the details stamped into your caravan wheels, and buy a matching wheel from the place Damian recommended or somewhere like Towsure.

Thanks for your advice on this. The person who suggested a car whell was maybe just a little too cheapskate.
