Hi,
How many of you travel "WITHOUT" a spare wheel for the van?
If you do have one, where is it stored?
Has your spare wheel ever been stolen at all?

Always travel with spare wheel with an in date tyre. Current van has it in front locker. Previous van had it under on Alko carrier which I removed and kept spare in van over axle. Safer when abroad, cleaner and far easier if/when you need to use it as they are not easy to remove from Alko carrier when you do have a flat. Once on site I shoved it under van secured to chassis with strong chain and padlock. It was difficult to see if awning wasn’t used and neigh on impossible to see when awning was up.

Edit PS Never had a spare wheel stolen.

Similar to Clive, took the wheel out from the Alko carrier and it goes under the bed, same physical place but above the floor as to slung the van as its a real pain to get out . Removed the carrier to save 7kg.

1. No
2. In all caravans that I have had in the front locker
3. As it's in the front locker, the likelihood of it being stolen is well night zero

1 I towed caravans, over the last 40 years or more without ever having a spare wheel for the van
Then about 2 or 3 years ago I began to have gloomy thoughts!

Had I just been lucky? or was it likely that my number was just about to come up and the spare wheel would be needed at the worst possible time (perhaps on a motorway in the dark during heavy visibility reducing rain, or fog..and of course on a bank holiday!) I thought long and hard about this and after a while I cracked! I got myself a spare wheel and tyre and made sure it fitted OK.

2 It lives in the front locker (where there is an allocated space for it and securing point)

3 Its early days yet, but no one (so far) has tried to open the front locker and nick it!

If any one did open the front locker it's likely they would recoil in horror at the stuff that I keep in there.... but I can still keep the noseload and max weight within limits without experiencing any difficulties.

As always regards to all, and of course,
Happy Caravanning!
