Spares for a 1997 Avondale Perle Argos

I am looking for a replacement gas locker door and frame, a grey offside wheel arch and side trim for my Argos. I have contacted my local Avondale dealer who have said it may not be possible to get these parts due to the age of the 'van. Can anyone recommend a good caravan breakers yard or decent second hand retailer? I have found an internet site that sends requests for parts to various breakers who then email you if they have the required items - has anyone used a similar service? Id be grateful for your comments before I part with my money (thats if the parts can be found!)

I too am looking for a gas locker door, also a window for an older van than yours..1992 Avondale Perle ulysses, only one avondale dealer in northern Ireland, but taking ages getting back to me, im worried after reading your post

I don't think many manufacturers make the windows, if any. Try finding who supplied the originals it's normaly marked on them. Around the family we have done a few repairs to caravans. Side locker doors on one van were replaced with a near sized door and frame with only a very minor alteration and a GRP wheel arch replaced by a pair from a different van that were also sprayed the correct colour to match.

The dealer never noticed the changes at trade in and the new owners were none the wiser when met at a Dorset site two years later.

Give Hunmanby Caravan Breakers a call. I used to have an old 1982 Monza and they were able to supply everything they needed. They stock parts from 1960 to the present day caravans. They are very reasonable and genuine. You can trust them to send the correct items and promptly. I have recommended them on this site before and the recipient was over the moon with their response. They post direct to your home address so Ireland for the other searcher should be no problem.
