The council say they are going to install more speed bumps or sleeping policemen to slow traffic down. Bit daft spending money when we already have loads of them , they're called potholes .

We have a huge problem with speeding on our road we recently had a residents meeting to discuss the options, the council have said they will not put speed humps in as they cause damage to the cars and also the last thing residents want to hear early morning is workmans vans going over the humps with his tools banging and clanging

We had a meeting with our council a while back, they said did we think speed bumps for our road were a good idea. We said we didn't want them - irresponsible speeding in our road could be stopped if the local taxi company, who are the only offenders anyone is aware of, would co-operate.

Off topic, but at the same meeting we discussed stopping people parking on verges (we have road, then grass verge, then pavement, then front garden walls - people park on the verge because you can't park in the road without making the road too narrow for anything except a small car to get through. The council Highways bloke said they were looking at putting posts down the verges to stop this.

Resident: "These posts, will they be wooden or concrete?"
Council: "Not decided but probably wood, why?"
Resident: "I want to know if my chainsaw will deal with them or if I'll need a masonry disc for the grinder"
He got a round of applause.
