Hi,

The gas hob on my new van is fairly close to the front seats. I'm worried that my cooking the obligatory full english breakfast may splash fat onto my nice seats. I'm looking for a temporary splash guard to place on the worktop at cooking times - preferably glass. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Hi Glenn.

How about one of the glass chopping boards / worktop protectors that you can buy for home use? Just get a block of pine wood, cut a groove in it and place the chopping board on it's side in the groove. You can then seperate them and place the chopping board on an available space to protect it, and put the block into any hide away place. You could even stain the wood to match the decor of your van.

Just a thought!

Much better plan: Get a cadac (or similar) and fry outside. OH was not allowed a cooked breakfast (Oh the power!) until we got one. Now he is as happy as a pig in muck. Cooked brekkie, outside cooking, and all the grills and surfaces of the cadac to play with.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm all for outside cooking but not in the wind & rain lol. The glass chopping board/wooden block is a good idea though!
