Hi all just taken delivery of 2025 Sprite - newbie. What I assume to be the TV aerial on the top of the van is not circular it has a kind of long pointy end. Does that mean I have to move it around to get a signal? (I already noticed that I could not get any radio signal on the built in radio yesterday but frankly I only looked at it for a couple of minutes so it could be user error!)

I’m sure the dealer told me the TV aerial is omni-directional which I assumed means I don’t need to move it.

The pointed end should point to the direction of the transmitter. Also when travelling put the aerial down and the pointed end facing to the rear of the caravan. On top of the amplifier there is a switch for on and off. It is not omnidirectional but needs turning to get strongest signal

Is this like yours? Inside directly underneath the roof you will see the aerial shaft wit( a large knurled hand nut. . Follow Birdman’s advice above

It looks very similar yes - in fact I just found a leaflet in the myriad documents that the dealer gave out. It is a Status 570 Vision Plus. Looking at the leaflet I guess it is directional, and I will find some adjusters probably in a cupboard in the bedroom - will check shortly.

Also the pointed part is not pointing neither forwards or backwards even though it says int he leaflet it should do so for travelling - it’s currently pointing to about 7pm if midday is the front of the caravan. This is how the dealer gave me the caravan.

Should be a sticker near the handle, giving basic information.

To be fair the Swift aerials are quite good, slacken the large nut inside the cupboard to release it and it extends up by a couple of feet, the small plastic handle on the base allows the aerial to be tilted by about 80 degrees. If you can't get any signal check the run of the aerial coax as I have had an instance on a new caravan where the two ends hadn't been plugged together behind a cupboard!
