sprite alpine xl help and info if possible

Hi All.

I now have my first caravan

its a sprite alpine xl 2 berth its a old one and i intend to do overhall of the van before next yeat, can anyone help out with the year of the van , it has twin electric plugs one black one grey if that can help date it , also how do i find things like brake shoes and cables should i need them and the best place to find spares, also does anone know how to get a user manuals for the van or wiring diagrams or any info at alll on this van.

Pre 1991 at a guess. Sprites used Knott running gear at that time and own chassis. Post 91 they used BPW until the factory closed and the name was sold to Swift. If you look at the chassis plate the date should be evident as I ssem to recall they did not use date codes then. As to wiring diagrams, the Sprites were so simple that 5 mins with a multimeter will soon find you all that you need. The danger with using the original diagrams is that people 'upgrade' things and the diagrams become of little use.
