Hi i've looked at a Rexton 2874cc 290s 5 door diesel 2004 reg.
Can anyone give any feedback as what they are like as a tow car & what like on fuel please.
We have an old Isuzu trooper and looking to replace.
Thanks Ann

If the budget will stretch a little go for the 270xdi, not the most economical of cars at the best of times but it is said to be a better all rounder than the 290. Mine is a 55, which I'm hoping to change later this year and apart from silly little electrical gremlins no problems with it and tows my twin axle coachman with ease in all situations I've encountered so far! Can dip as low as 19 in town and the best achieved was 32 on a very gentle solo long run. Managed Winchester to Beverley on a tank.

Thanks Martin. We're on a really tight budget, this car will be the one i use for work & towing, at present for work i use 05 Mondeo & towing i use J reg Isuzu Trooper; trying to keep to just road tax & ins for one vehicle.
Thanks again
Ann

If it helps figure wise I got mine nearly two years ago, from a dealer. It was three years old, had done 30000 and was I think from memory not much over £8000 so I'd imagine you would be looking at under 6 to get you a 270 which should be more economical than the 290 for work as well as towing. By sticking to 2005 and not going newer you'll save on tax as well.
