Stabliliser parts and bumper protectors

I've bought a 2nd hand Bulldog stabiliser bar, the one that has connections on car and on caravan with a bar in the middle, not the towball type. I was wondering if it's possible to paint the bracket on the car end? I can mask off the area where the bar sits in, but is it OK to paint the rest? And if so, can anyone recommend a good paint? I am trying my best to make the car look like it has no towbar by trying to get white towball and electrics covers and a white bumper protector. In case you hadn't guessed - my car is white! At least my car will match my caravan :) Can the bumper protector be painted as well? It's a black one that's come with my kit.

Finally, I was browsing a dealer's last week and saw a clear silicone-like bumper protector that you stuck on the bumper behind the tow ball. Has anyone used these? And are they sufficient to avoid damage to the bumper? A new one is being fitted at the same time as my tow bar and knowing me, it will need all the protection it can get!

You can paint the brackets but you need to prime the metal first or use white smooth Hammerite

I have this bumper protector which is totally invisible when not being used and also as the metal is much thicker acts as a guide when hitching up.

The outer part clamps between the towball and towbar and the centre part lifts easily out.

The ones that stick on the bumper just protect against a slight impact to avoid damage to the paint

Some people use a GB sticker

Now that's a solution I hadn't thought of Robert thanks! High impact sponge will be the kind used in car bumpers yes? If do, some of mine is being trimmed to fit a modified bumper so will keep hold of it to stick onto the caravan.

I have started painting my stabiliser bracket and the metal bumper protect with smooth white Hammerite as John recommended. The bumper plate has quite a good finish but I think will take a long time to dry properly, the stabiliser bracket isn't so good but then the old black paint it had on it wasn't in great nick either. I've cleaned it up as best I can and will apply another coat tomorrow before it goes on the car on Wednesday. Going to try and find one of those removable metal bumper protectors locally tho, see if I can have that fitted with the tow bar instead of the painted bumper protector.
