stack a pads - any good

Hi we have booked a site which is fairly unlevel.

To assist in levelling the van front to back we need to put something under the legs to add extra hight.

My question, has anybody used stack a pads? sold in blocks of 4 I think by pyramid.

Are they stong enough? How high can you stack them etc.or any other comments.

We usually use blocks of wood but to chock both legs I need to add 330 mm under each leg and my thinking is due to the size and weight of the wood needed, I am looking for an alternative.

Thanks in advance for any help

Cheers

John

Hi,

for years I used wood blocks and other bits and pieces. Then after an article in the CC magazine I bought a pair of Bebbington Steps leg extensions. They are square metal tubes that fit over your steady and mate into place with the steady end. Then when you wind them down they just act like longer steadies. I would never be without them and a couple of years ago I lent them to family who were having problems levelling their van as the height of the front made wood blocks and stones not too safe. I left them with them and they posted them back to me. Here is the Bebbington website ...http://www.bebbingtonsteps.co.uk/

Hi,

I bought 2 sets of 4 stacka pads. They do what they say on the tin but be prepared to use them in stacks of four cos I cant separate mine for love nor money. Ive tried levering them apart but the rims just crack and break off.

I use the square leggo type stacking blocks from Fiamma. Use them for levelling and also under the jockey wheel and legs as necessary. They don't stick together and offer great flexibility. Unfortunately I think they have stopped making them which is a real blow as I could do with some more!
