i have the traditional omni directional ariel fitted to the van im considering changing to the directional ariel has anybody done this and was there an improvement (the spike is missing off the top of mine as well)

i have just swapped my wing aerial of an avondale dart for the status 530. it was really easy the only difficult/scary bit is drilling the hole in the roof. go on give it a go
