Steamer

Hi All
Can you tell me is it safe to use the likes of a Polti Steamer on my fixed caravan carpets, frightened i would delaminated the floor or something daft, it doesnt soak carpets just surface touch damp! we have a bit of a smell in the van at the moment and having poured a half bottle of bleach down all the outlet pipes and put there plugs in, and sterlized cistern and casette this is the only other thing i can thing that the smell maybe after a lot of wet feet on holidays last week, as the smell wasnt there before.

cheers lollie x

I've never used a steamer but I do use a wet-vac every so often and it's never caused damage. I don't mean dripping wet you understand, just damp enough to loosen any dirt and then vac it all up.

HI Dom

Cheers I had a good root about first and the underfloor is very think reinforced plastic so no probs, steamed away again it just leaves a slight damp surface was dry as a bone in under 1 hours what a difference, i think the smell has been a combination of the kitchen sink being used again since we just bought it, and all the wet feet at the weekend as the carpet wasnt very pleasant at all on the nose!

job done, i'll know for sure in the morning if ive got to the root of the problem, cheers

lollie x
