Stop over north of Le Mans

Last year we used the municipal site at Beaumont sur Sarthe for an overnight stop. It was lovely and probably deserved a longer stay. It's in the Caravan Club Europe book if you have it and I think Alan Rogers too.
 
We have stayed on this site many times as stop over and once for three days it is very good in good spot however on some pitches you may need two cables to reach and in peak season try to get there by 5 o'clock as it fills quickly being close to Autoroute and reasonable distance from Le Havre.Highly recommended.

Just south of Le Mans is Ecommoy near to A 28 but not to near for noise very good Municipal site . very helpful warden with good English. Just do not go there when there is racing at Le Mans

I also like the Municipal site at Mayet which is close to Ecommoy and had a 23 day holiday there once.

Can highly recommend Camping de Chanteloup just North of le Mans. Part of the castels group with large pitches, good swimming pool and excellent fishing lake. Can book through Caravan club.
