Hi

I've now booked 26 July - 9 August at Camping Port La Chaine, Pleubian, N Brittany for the first 2 weeks of our Summer hols

We're driving down from Calais (first time on the shuttle) and need to find a stopover site for 1-2 nights on the journey down. I was looking at Le Brevedent but see that they don't take dogs.

Any other good recommendations would be appreciated. We are 2 mid/late 50iers travelling with Max our, 14 year old, border collie. We like quiet site with "water views" (river, canal, lake, sea) if possible.

Thanks.

Tim

I am not sure whether they take dogs but you could try La Catiniere just by Le Harve. This would be about midway and is only a short drive off the main road. If you are having 2 nights you could visit Honfleur which is not far away.

……I did a similar trip last year and stayed here overnight at Pont -Farcy municipal site.
There were dogs on site including one belonging to the warden.

The site is just off the A84 and easy to find, the pitches are large enough so that you do not have to unhitch and you are next to the river Vire.
The village is within walking distance.
There is an interesting memorial nearby to members of the Royal Engineers who lost their life in WW2.
The memorial is in the form of a restored Bailey Bridge and commemorates the fact that all the bridges in this area had to be quickly replaced by the Allies after they had destroyed them to secure victory.

Thanks Gafferbill and Leslie
Those sites are excellent possibilities as they are just about at the half way point which is what we are hoping for.
Anymore suggestions are very welcome.
Thanks again.
