storage damage

i would just like to thank the person who ran into my caravan at the storage compound at cockshades farm shavington near crewe, you have cost me a day of my holidays the repair to some bodywork, a new tyre and possibly a new alko tow hitch i WILL find out who you are so expect a call really soon

Hope you find who it was.

Pathetic that they did not own up.

When I stored my caravan, the owner had a policy where only he or his staff moved vans in and out of the storage area. A phone call the day before would see the caravan sitting in the "pick-up / drop-off" area.

He had the spare hitch lock and wheel lock key so the caravan was never left insecure. On my return, I would lock it up in the "area" and leave. He would then move it back into storage.

He said it was easier than have someone damage a caravan, boat, motorhome etc etc.

His insurance covered ALL movements in the storage area, so that's why he or a staff member did it.

Hope you get it sorted.......

Hello David,

I am sorry to read of your damage. You might find that if it is supposed to be a 'secure' compound that you may have a claim against the site owner.

And Horay for the other respondents. This is exactly what should be happening. - Site owners taking full responsibility for the property in their care, and only allowing fully authorised and insured employees to manage the movement of customers property in the storage area.

Other Secure Site Owners should be doing exactly this and must take note.
