Hi not what you thought !

Was looking for an awning item on ebay and came across an add for a 'Streaker' - says its a new product - basically a continuous rubber strip that feeds into the awning rail and supposedly deflects rainwater away thereby avoiding the dreaded black streaks down the side of the van.

Its sold in 2 x 6m lengths at £29.95 a pair.

Has anyone seen it, tried it, got any comments ???

It is item No.110435705995 if anyone wants to have a look.

Cheers

Jon

What a complete rip off!

You can buy the beading tape for less than half that price.

I also doubt very much that it will stop the streaking.

Sounds as though it is not as 'new' as they make out and expensive to boot - I must admit I like the idea though - but it obviously wouldn't stop streaks on the front or rear ends.

Have never seen anything like this reviewed, but I will look to see if stocked when next I visit a dealers.

Went to the NEC on Friday and didn't come across anything on display and you would think that would be a good place to sell?

You'd really think that with modern technology manufacturers would now have found a way to avoid this streaking. We thoroughly cleaned our caravan a week or two ago, and even before the van had dried off properly the black streaks were reappearing. As soon as you get water anywhere near the seals a streak appears - even those areas which have been re-sealed recently. Anyone found anything that helps to prevent them?

I have used a length of awning beading for a number of years now and find it very effective in preventing the black streaks from developing.i remove when travelling and also wash in the washing machine every so often when it gets dirty.
