Strorage opening hours

If you keep your van in storage what are the normal opening hours? and can you make arrangements for out of hours pick ups/drop offs etc?

We are generally happy with our local yard but they keep moving the opening hours in and are now requesting vans back before 17:00 unless special arrangements are made. As this is normally only a phone call to warn them we are going to be late and they are generally pretty flexible it is not a massive problem.

I would be interested to get a general feel for what other yards operate?

Thanks

My van is on a CASSOA site. The normal summer entry hours are available, ie 9 -5 pm and after hours by pre-arrangement. Nothing untoward in that as it means that someone does not have to sit all hours of the evening waiting on a late arrival. During winter the hours are reduced, and again I do not see a problem with that either. A simple bit of planning, or a telephone call are all that is required to keep both you as a customer, and the site operator happy.

Our storage is open 8am until 7pm through summer and 9 till 5 over winter, the later opening is very handy, if it were to shut at 5 I would only really be able to access the Van at weekends, this way i can collect on an evening after work which I find really good!

we operate a storage site if you telephone day before you can get entry to site at any time of day but it is unbeleivable the amount of people that cannot phone to give notice, they just turn up and expect to gain entry. As we also run another business from the same place there is not always someone available to let them in to the compound. We have had a problem with a caravaner saying that he has has items stolen off his caravan so we tend to be with everyone entering and leaving the site.

We have a swipe fob to enable 24 hour access. We find this more flexible as coming back from france may be at 2am and we dont have anywhere else to store our van for the night.

We live in NE Bristol and as we store the van appx 25 miles away on the other side of Bristol we would be interested to know of any storage areas to the NE of Bristol.

Opening hours at the existing yard are causing a few problems as well.

We have just moved van to storage in the area we want - cost less too!

The farmer is not to worried about times as long as we warn him in advance.

I was getting tired of 50 mile trips across the city to get the van , looking forward to it being a bit easier now.

I store my van in Trowbridge, still quite a distance fro you but the rates are reasonable and there is 24hour access via swipe card. If its close enough let me know and I will dig out the coontact numbers.
