We collected our brand new Sudwind 590 in August last year. Whilst it is a well built van we are so disappointed with the finish. For instance, the toilet door is warped quite badly, the fly screen door frame is broken, grommets missing on gas hob, cover over the lights around the main door coming off, dometic toilet leaks, dometic oven doesn’t stay alight (even though dealer says there’s nothing wrong with it). I know that it’s covered by the warranty but how long does it take to get these problems fixed. The caravan was in the dealers workshop for 7 weeks and none of the reported jobs have been fixed. I think now, after spending a lot of money on this van, we should have kept our faithful “old” Coachman!! Anyone else had problems with Knaus?

I have moved this thread to General. You may get more responses. Brand banter can be a bit of a back water 🤫

That’s not a good experience😢
The Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you some excellent rights.

Briefly in your case the following is relevant:-

Beyond the first 30 days of ownership you're entitled to a full or partial refund instead of a repair or replacement if any of the following are true:

  • an attempt at repair or replacement has failed
  • the cost of the repair or replacement is disproportionate to the value of the goods or digital content
  • a repair or replacement is impossible
  • a repair or replacement will cause you significant inconvenience
  • the repair or replacement will take an unreasonably long amount of time.
What is an “unreasonably long amount of time?
Purchased in August 2024. Away at Dealers for 7 weeks . Still not fixed?

I’d reject the caravan and demand a full cash refund under the terms of the CRA.

Which? Legal may also give you some guidance.
There are some other CRA Gurus on here who may comment too.
