Sun canopy

We have the opportunity to purchase a brand new never been used and still in the boxes Isabella Eclipse G21 sun canopy which comes with side walls and adapters. Being sold at half the price of when it is new so is a bargain. As we do not have the full awning, when we use it it will go directly onto the side of the caravan.

We are very tempted, but the concern here is " security" as everything in it is on view. Although a full awning itself is not secure even when closed, you cannot see inside unless you go right up to the awning. Unfortunately in the past we have had one or two things gone walkies. Due to OH having issues we are considering moving onto a seasonal site next year if we can find a vacancy. The other concern is being out for the day and the wind comes up strong. On the seasonal site we could leave an awning up, but a sun canopy could be a concern as the site is near Weston Super Mare and we are 90 miles away.

Our current sun canopy fits on the front of our current Magnum porch awning and very seldom we use it direct onto the caravan. Although the Eclipse is at a bargain price, our concern is that once we have tried it we may find it is unsuitable. Do you think that there may be any issues using just a sun canopy. thta we have not thought of? Thanks.

If your getting it half price you will easily make your money back give it a go

I think that you are being rightly cautious about leaving it up on a seasonal pitch when you are not there. It would be more susceptible to stormy conditions and You really wouldn’t be able to leave anything in there due to possible theft and, more likely, things like lightweight chairs and tables being blown over in a sudden gust.
However if you are going to continue touring, it sounds like a bargain.

There is no doubt, it is a bargain. A few years ago we had a sun canopy caught in a strong gust of wind and blown on top of the caravan. We had left it connected to the pegs until the last moment when the strong gust caught it and ripped it out of OH's hands.

It was a right hassle to remove it off the roof as we have a satellite dish and ot got caught on the dish. Not an experience we would want to repeat. LOL!
