Sunday fuel in France

Hi all

We're travelling down to the Vendee region in 3 weeks (counting down the hours!!) and are going to be driving on the Sunday, after an overnight stop in Calais. We will probably be refuelling on the Sunday, am I right in thinking that fuel purchase will be no problem on the motorway, as I understand that the French can sometimes have very restricted opening times elsewhere on Sundays. I know the price will be more, once in Vendee can then refuel at leisure, shop around for best price etc. Don't really want to deviate from motorways too much on journey. Any advice wpould be most gratefully received!!

.....fuel will be no problem on the motorways on a Sunday.

You can fill up at Calais Auchan 24/7 fuel station if you use Diesel. Current price

We have just returned and Autorutes are no problem for fuel. Curent prices around 1.27-1.29E. In larger towns the supermarkest may still only open 10-12, but every fuel station we visted had a card payment pump(s. Very easy to use Visa or Mastercard and all purchases are receipted too. In the supermarket near St Omer fuel was 1.086E yesterday.
