Having just tried out my new Sunncamp Scenic awning, I was a bit concerned about where the horizontal pole touched the side of the caravan. In windy weather it may move and put a dent in the van.
A fellow caravanner said that this was the Achilles heel of the awning and his dealer gave him a piece of advice. Buy 2 of the suckers that fit onto awning poles and rest against the van. Cut a small slot in the top and bottom of the suckers and fit them over the ends of the Sunncamp horizontal pole where it touches the van. This should stop any dents in the side of the van.
