Suspended Jockywheels

I've just returned from 2 weeks at the CC Sandringham site(lovely thanks!) and during my time there I noticed 3 or 4 vans pitched with the jocky wheel off the ground and the van resting only on the steadies. I could see no obvious reason for this, and thought that pitching the van using only the steadies was a big no no.

Can anyone offer an explanation as to why these vans were pitched like this - I'm just curious.

This comes up a lot.

I went round one site and counted

It was about 50/50

Sometimes I remove the jocket wheel to mount the satellite dish but I find no difference in stability when moving around the van with or without the jockey.

At shows dealers usually have them removed

The nose weight is only 100kg with the legs up and with them down the legs take most of the weight .

As was mentioned before there is no third leg at the back when caravans have rear seating areas.

Just do what you feel happy with yourself
