Swapping internal waste bin for the ‘IKEA hack’ bin

Ok been looking at the IKEA larger door waste bin for a while, and yes we could empty the bin more often

Everyone has probably seen this on YouTube or TikTok.

Has anyone swapped their bin and by screwing on the alternative do you think this would void the warranty?

I would need to make 4 new holes but the screws would only be the same length as the original ones, and about 20cm in line with the old holes

Thought I’d ask before going all in regarding the warranty.. 🫣

It would not affect your warranty unless potentially a problem occurred in the vicinity of the bin and the dealer tried to link it to your change. But if the screw length is the same that potential risk is infinitesimal.

Gosh that was a quick fix. I was going to come back and say you could use self adhesive Velcro, or double sided adhesive pads too.

I was all ready to go with tools in hand, asked on the off chance before last second fitting.

Honestly this took a couple minutes to remove and fit, so easy.
