I am on holiday in Spain with my Abbey Vogue 520, 2007 model. I was sat at the dinette enjoying my breakfast when the seat suddenly collapsed. After checking and inspecting what had happened I could only conclude that the collapse was due to very very poor design and and shoddy engineering. The whole structure was held together by wire staples and small flimsy right angle brackets, small screws and an odd collection of small blocks of timber that appear to be an after thought. The ends of the wire staples only just penetrated the adjacent timber by about an eighth of an inch. Hardly an efficient securing device.Who ever thought up this design and method of securing had not realy given much thought to the stresses that would be applied. As I said before, shoddy. Next day a trip to the local DIY shop (Mr Bricolage at Figures) and _18.00 worth of timber, screws, brackets and a small saw and an afternoon DIY I can now confidently sit back on the seat.

I post this because I believe Swift should know but mainly if you or you know others who have a VOGUE and have children who use the bunks above the dinette please ensure the stability as the area where it ollapsed is where it supports one of the main upper bunk struts. We do not use the bunks.JTS.

I have just used my new Abbey Vogue 600 2007 model, on the first evening sat at the side dinette I noticed the end panel was moving. On closer inspection the panel had trim caps but 2 screws where missing behind them!! I had to repair this myself as this part forms part of the side bunks
