I hope the caravan industry is in decline, I may be able to get a bloody pitch without booking up 6 months in advance then. So if anyone is going to get rid of a caravan please do it soon so i can get a pitch this summer. Thanks Simon

God I was having a great morning until i read your posts Sidney. Some of what you say might happen it may not. Whats the point in worrying yourself sick over it. you sell your big car you sell your caravan, at least then Ill have no fear in bumping into you on a camp site. Enjoy the time you have left on this ever decreasing world we live in, or darken someone elses forum

From your admonition not to post here I can only conclude that you are the new owner of Practical Caravan magazine.

Congratulations on your purchase.

We went to the caravan show last autumn at the NEC.We noticed 2 things.

1) Not many people buying 'New' vans

2) I didn't spot any van that I would swap for mine.

Caravans have improved tremendously over the years, so much so that people are keeping them longer and the quality of secondhand vans has also improved.

It is definately getting harder to book sites which must mean that our hobby is on the increase.

That's my opinion anyway.

Pat " I didn't spot any van that I would swap for mine "

We feel the same we have had our van a couple of years now, and we have never seen anything yet we would change for. If we did we would change !!!!!

Our model is a 2002 model. When I looked at the current model the only difference was the installation of a microwave.Unless something drastic happens we will keep ours for a few more years yet.
